Frequently asked questions

I'm a complete beginner. What do you recommend?
If you're completely new to reformer Pilates, we'd recommend starting with one of our Beginners Programmes. These are designed to help you build confidence, learn the fundamentals and feel comfortable using the reformer before progressing into our regular timetable.
Our instructors will guide you every step of the way, so you'll never feel out of your depth.
Which class should I book?
Because all of our instructors are clinically trained, you can book onto any of our classes with confidence.
Every exercise can be adapted to suit your ability, and your instructor will help you progress when you're ready or provide extra support if you need it. We don't believe in leaving anyone behind.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely is ideal. We recommend wearing fitted or semi fitted clothing rather than anything too loose, as this helps our instructors see your alignment and technique so they can make any corrections if needed.
Grip socks are required for all reformer classes. If you don't have a pair, you can purchase them at the studio.
How many classes should I attend each week?
For the best results, we recommend attending two classes each week. This allows you to build strength, improve your technique and progress more quickly.
Of course, one class a week is still beneficial, so choose a routine that works best for your lifestyle.
Is there parking?
Monday to Friday (9am to 5pm)
Parking directly outside the studio is reserved for the businesses within Moorfield Chambers, so we kindly ask that you only park in the designated Auri Pilates spaces.
There is plenty of free on street parking nearby, and Morrisons is just a short walk away, offering up to two hours of free parking.
Evenings and weekends
Parking is available directly outside the studio at Moorfield Chambers.
Do you offer memberships?
Yes. We offer a range of flexible options, including pay as you go classes, class bundles and monthly memberships.
Our memberships offer the best value per class and include priority booking, 10% off our events and three guest passes each year.
I'm pregnant. Can I still attend?
Absolutely.
You can attend any of our classes during pregnancy. Our instructors are clinically trained and have additional antenatal training, allowing them to adapt exercises to suit your stage of pregnancy.
Simply let your instructor know before the class begins, and they'll make any necessary modifications to help you exercise safely and confidently.
Do you have changing rooms?
We have a private bathroom with a shower that you're welcome to use.
If you think you'll need the shower before or after your class, just send us a quick message beforehand so we can make sure it's available.
Do you offer one to one sessions?
Yes.
Our one to one sessions are perfect if you're completely new to reformer Pilates, returning after an injury, recovering postnatally or simply prefer individual support.
Your instructor will tailor every session to your goals, helping you build confidence before joining group classes or working towards your own personal objectives.
Can I book the studio privately?
Yes.
Whether you're celebrating a birthday, organising a hen party, planning a corporate wellbeing event or simply want to exercise with a group of friends, we'd love to help.
We can tailor your booking to suit your group, with the option to include a reformer Pilates session, refreshments or use of our beautiful events space.
I have an injury or medical condition. Can I still attend?
In many cases, yes.
Our instructors are clinically trained and experienced in adapting exercises for a wide range of injuries, medical conditions and movement limitations.
Before your first class, we'll ask you to complete a health questionnaire so we understand your needs. If you're unsure whether reformer Pilates is right for you, please get in touch before booking and we'll be happy to advise on the most suitable option.

When can I start exercising after giving birth?
We recommend waiting until you've had your six week postnatal check and have been given the all clear to exercise by your healthcare professional.
If you've had a Caesarean section, we generally recommend waiting until you're around 10 to 12 weeks postnatal and have also been given the all clear to exercise. If you're unsure, please get in touch and we'll be happy to advise.
Can I bring my baby if they're crawling or walking?
Absolutely!
Unlike many mum and baby classes, you're welcome to continue attending even once your little one is on the move.
Our studio has an enclosed soft play area where mobile babies can play safely while you exercise, and we also have an upstairs play space for before and after class. You don't have to stop moving just because your baby has started moving!
Can I attend more than one Mum & Baby class each week?
Yes!
Your Mum & Baby Series includes six classes to be used over a six week period, but you're welcome to attend one, two or even three classes in a week if you'd like. The only requirement is that all six classes are used within the six week programme.
I have Diastasis Recti. Can I still do Pilates?
In most cases, yes.
Reformer Pilates is often recommended as a safe and effective way to help strengthen your deep core muscles and support recovery from abdominal separation when taught appropriately.
Our clinically trained instructors will adapt every exercise to suit your individual recovery, so simply let us know before your first class and we'll tailor the session to your needs.
What if my baby cries during the class?
Please don't worry. Babies cry, need feeding, changing and cuddles, and that's completely normal.
Our Mum & Baby classes are designed with this in mind. You're welcome to pause at any time to tend to your little one before rejoining the class whenever you're ready.
What do I need to bring?
We recommend bringing everything you'd normally pack for a trip out with your baby, including nappies, wipes, bottles or feeds, a blanket and any favourite toys or comforters.
We'll take care of the Pilates!
Do I need childcare to attend?
Not at all. That's exactly why we created our Mum & Baby classes.
Your little one stays with you throughout the session, allowing you to prioritise your own wellbeing without needing to arrange childcare.
